Faux Finish for Front Doors BEFORE – 112 viewsThis beautiful paneled white wood front door was a big contrast to the beige colored wainscoating panels with faux painted textured insets. The door was painted to match up with the rest of the foyer. See after photo next.

Faux Painted Front Door AFTER – 123 viewsYou can really see the striking difference between the before and after shots. Once this was matched up properly to the rest of the foyer it really added so much to the entrance.

Decorative Painting 1 - Before – 786 viewsI took this shot after the very outdated wallpaper was removed and I had painted a white primer on the wall. The great thing about using paint to decorate is that when you get sick of it, you can easily paint over it. So before you go pick out your wallpaper, you may want to think twice! Just think if you want to sell your home. Many people will not buy it if they have to redo walls before they can move in. Wallpaper removal is a horrible task that I personally passed on to someone else.

Decorative Painting 1- After – 1005 viewsThis bathroom originally had a pink flowered wallpaper on the walls that was starting to peel after so many years. Plus the style of the paper was very outdated by 10 years or so. Here is the result after painting a pale yellow basecoat to keep the bright cheerful look of this bathroom. I also painted stripes and added a nice stencil design to the stripes. The color choice is definitely more gender neutral than the formerly feminine pink bathroom.

Decorative Painting 1- After – 1082 viewsI added this extra shot to highlight the flowers above the tub. Previously, there were pink silk flowers that were not placed properly in the container. They also did not match the new paint job. Since I have done silk flower arrangements in the past I picked out some nice flowers to accent their freshly painted bath and redid their arrangement. I think it really compliments the new look.

ShimmerStone Faux Bathroom Before – 770 viewsMy client really wanted to get rid of the "march of the elephants" as she called it, that were stenciled in the bathroom. They inherited the elephants when they purchased the house. I think from this photo, you can understand why. The bathroom was just plain white walls with the elephant stencil above your head as you walked in.

ShimmerStone Faux Bathroom After – 995 viewsHere is the result using a product called ShimmerStone made by Benjamin Moore. This rich color and texture gave this bathroom a warm glow to previously white walls. Unfortunately you cannot see the texture that was added to the wall. There is also a slight shimmer where the light catches it. You can see the shimmer on the wall in the mirror where the light reflects on the opposite wall. The great thing about this product is the variety of colors you can create to match any decor. It is mildew resistant, so it works well in a bathroom.

ShimmerStone Faux Bathroom After – 1099 viewsHere's the after shot. Unfortunately you cannot see details of the texture on the wall, but if you are familar with the look of venetian plaster then you will have a better idea of how this looks. The next photo shows you a closeup view of the texture.

ShimmerStone Faux Bathroom After – 1087 viewsHere is a closeup view of the wall texture using Shimmerstone. The flash washed the color out, but it gives you a good idea of the texture.
