Scratch Art Drawings: Step By Step
By Cecelia Nodell
There are so many hi-tech computer-oriented art projects out on the market today that we sometimes forget about plain old paper and crayons. Here's an easy art project that kids (and adults) of all ages will enjoy. This article will give you step by step instructions on how to make your own Scratch Art with just a few supplies you probably already have at home.
You will need: 2. On white or light-colored construction paper use all different colors of crayons to color in the entire page. Make wide or narrow strips of color. Or, if you prefer, large and small shapes of color. 3. Make sure the entire page is completely covered. Try to color as darkly as possible. Your color-covered page should look something like this. 5. Next, take your craft stick or popsicle stick and 'scratch out' your drawing! As you scratch off the black crayon, the rainbow of colors underneath begins to show. Make any kind of design that you want. From stick figures to plain, old squiggly lines. Be creative and have fun!
