The look of grasscloth and its popularity this year is on the rise. Grasscloth gives your walls an amazing texture that will give your room that cozy, earthy feeling. You don't have to use real grasscloth or opt for wallpaper. You can create this look with textured paint.

Supplies needed:

5 gallon paint bucket
5 gallon bucket grid
2" angled nylon paint brush
textured paint
roller with looped roller cover (made especially for textured paints)
whisk broom (new)
latex paint in your color choice
roller cover for heavy textured walls

Instructions:

1. Using your 2" paint brush cut in doors and ceilings and around windows with textured paint. Be sure to tape off areas where you don't want paint first.

2. Using your paint roller, work in 3 foot squares and Roll on the textured paint. make sure you go over your cut in portions with your roller as close as you can. Work in columns.

3. once you have finished your entire wall, let it set for 15 or 20 minutes(according to Behr textured paint).

4. Roll on a new coat of textured paint on a 3 foot section and let it set for 5 minutes. Drag your whisk broom from top to bottom in straight lines. Textured paint only has an open time of about 15 minutes once it is applied to the wall, so this is why you need to work in small sections. Keep repeating this process until your wall or walls are finished.

5. Wait 24 hours to paint with your color choice after the texture is completely cured. Your paint color will help protect your new textured wall.
