Diaper Wreath - How To Make One
By Kurtis Hoeck

A new baby is a very exciting reason to celebrate. It can be hard to come up with great ideas for baby showers gifts. One gift that everybody will love is a diaper wreath. It is simple to make and fun to display. Once you learn how to make a baby diaper wreath you will be able to create them each time you know someone is expecting a new bundle of joy.

The round part for the diaper wreath is made up of disposable diapers. Various colors of streamers are wrapped around the ends. If you know the sex of the baby you can use suitable colors to represent it. Otherwise the traditional pink and blue work perfectly. You may want to get some small baby shower trinkets and tie them to the ends of the streamers as well. You can try rattles, diaper pins, miniature babies, and more.

You will need tobuy wire to start, that you will bend into a round shape. You can also purchase  a wreath wire at your local craft store. They are available in a variety of sizes too and it is much faster than having to make your own. Many people find it to be hard to get the wires into a perfect circle as well. When you buy one ready made you don't have to hassle with that part of the process either.

In order to get the diaper wreath to look great, you need to unfold the disposable diapers a certain way. You want to have a long rectangle and can accomplish this by only unfolding the crease at the bottom. Leave the wings on the sides of the diapers closed or you won't have them in the correct position to work with.

You want to fold the diaper round the wreath and then secure it in place by using rubber bands around the tops of them. You only want to place the rubber band around once though. If you twist it over and over again the middles with be scrunched instead of full like you need them to be for the overall effect of a diaper wreath. You want the diapers to slightly overlap so that there won't be any space between them on the wreath. Continue this pattern all the way around it.

You can also use ribbons to attach various types of baby gifts to the diaper wreath. They can be anything you would like to offer. This is a great way to give them much more than just the diaper wreath for the baby. Most new parents will be quite impressed with this type of creative project. They can keep it intact or they can break it down later and use those diapers for the baby.
